C.T. O’Donnell II, Ph.D., comes to The Rensselaerville Institute as President and CEO, with a dedication to helping people improve their lives in meaningful ways. More than a quarter century of successful nonprofit CEO level leadership is characterized by his passion for mission, strategic planning, operational results and organizational growth. By working in partnership with boards, managing talent, inspiring high performance teams, and empowering all with a clear vision, those teams have leveraged the ability to think and act strategically. With a strong national network of trusted and significant relationships, and a reputation for convening and collaborating, C.T. has received industry recognition for helping people in need, and for mission driven growth that significantly accrues to the benefit of those served.
As President and CEO of KidsPeace National Centers, a premier 125 year-old, 2,400 employee, accredited, nonprofit organization with a $170 million budget and 65 centers across America, C.T. spearheaded several successful strategic planning processes. He realized tangible success by significantly expanding high quality services to new and diverse populations and growing the KidsPeace footprint onto a national profile; developed new, creative and significant revenue resources; and designed on-going Executive Leadership Team performance work sessions.
C.T. serves on multiple national boards, and in leadership capacities. He recruited Fortune 500 CEO’s to Corporate Councils, and developed numerous Boards of Associates across America.
He holds a Ph.D. in Business and Technology from Capella University; M.S. and 6th year Advanced Graduate Studies Degree as a Psychologist with National Certification from Duquesne University; a B.A. from Wheeling Jesuit University and completed the S.P.I.N.M. Nonprofit Management at Harvard Business School.
C.T. has been interviewed by and quoted frequently in the national media and is an author or contributor to numerous books, magazines and periodicals including: Lehr Advantage; Rancher Magazine; Crittenton Courier; Caring magazine; For The Kids Magazine; Pictorial history books for KidsPeace, History of the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches; “I’ve Got This Friend Who”; KidsPeace/Boys and Girls Club “Meaningful Time Research”; Dissertation research on nonprofit executive compensation.
He is a devoted husband to Laura, proud father to Shawn, Ryan and Shannon and recently grandfather to Shawn Thomas.
