Strategic Alliances

Key Partners

The Rensselaerville Institute extends its impact with strategic alliances involving groups that have distinctly different core know-how and access to foundations, governments, and nonprofit groups we most want to influence.   They include:

MicroEdge.  We are the outcome partner for this company that has an 80 percent plus market share of grants administration software for foundations.  We add outcome tools to MicroEdge’s software to help foundations nationwide better define, track, verify, and report results from grants.  During the partnership’s first year, more than 50 foundations sought the Institute’s help in applying these tools.

Conference of Southwest Foundations.  This large regional association of grant makers (RAG) selected the Institute to be its outcome resource for foundation members. We provide web-based materials, workshops at annual and special conferences, and discounted outcome consulting services to members.  The group has over 300 foundation members in Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas.

Donor Edge.  This on-line data system on nonprofits -- developed by the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation and now used in Houston, Columbus and four other cities -- chose the Institute to guide its quest to get information about program success into its data base.  Most national rating and ranking systems focus on efficiency. They are virtually silent on nonprofit program success. Donor Edge will soon be hosted by GuideStar, the largest information base on nonprofits.  It will lead in generating outcome information formats and verifications for national use. For further information see, https://www.donoredge.org/start.do

Foundation Center.  Publishers of the Foundation Directory and other materials to assist nonprofits with fund-raising activities, this national organization and the Institute have offered courses in more than 15 cities on outcome management and how to define past and future success by a Result Card rather than by activities.  We also help nonprofits crisply respond to key questions foundations ask as investors, such as: If we invest in this program, what result will we be “buying”?  And, what are the chances that result will fully materialize?
