Outcomes for Advocacy Workshop Series

Advocates: Beware! The outcome movement may be hazardous to your health!
With the quest and even mania for results by many grant-makers, advocacy groups may well lose ground if they cannot find ways to tell a strong result story for the monies invested.

If you feel you are in such danger, this Outcomes for AdvocacyWorkshop will introduce you to some powerful outcome tools and engage you to learn the process that can help you shift the focus from what you produce (publications, awareness campaigns, media messages, etc.) to what people do with what you give them.   You will get case studies, impact verification techniques, ways to define and hit influence targets, and other very practical help.   offered in partnership by the Center for Outcomes & Alliance for Justice.

What you will get:

      • The experience of using outcome thinking and how it differs from using other approaches.
      • An overview of recent Institute research on advocacy best practices.
      • An outcome workbook ready for immediate application in your advocacy program.
      • The Institute's newest publication Outcome Frameworks:  An Overview for Practitioners.
      • Advice and consultation from highly experienced Institute consultants.
      • Examples of advocacy organizations using outcomes to verify success.
      • An expertly facilitated session balancing presentation, interaction and application.
      • Stimulation from interactions with staff in similar (and different!) advocacy environments.

Who Should Attend?
Leaders, managers and senior staff of advocacy groups at the national, state and local levels, along with government and foundation staff who support them.
