John A. La Rocca
Vice President & COO

John La Rocca is Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of The Rensselaerville Institute. Over a 37 year tenure, he has helped hundreds of organizations across the country, in the UK and in Canada to understand and implement tools and techniques of outcome thinking and practice. His strengths come from an ability to apply lessons and learnings from his many successful clients to all those with whom he works.

John’s customers have included both public and private entities, nonprofit organizations, foundations and government, all interested in using outcome approaches. He has directed projects with The Clark Foundation; The Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority; the Ministry of Housing, Toronto, Ontario, Canada; United Way organizations in Nashville, Buffalo, Schenectady, Corning and Albany (New York), Boston, and Oshawa, Ontario, Canada; the Department of Environmental Quality in Washington State; and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; and Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club. He is currently delivering a series of workshops around the country for The Foundation Center. John is equally skilled at assisting both investors (funders) and implementing groups (often nonprofits) to turn theory into practice that gets results.

In keynote, workshop, training or individual technical assistance session, John brings such enthusiasm to the setting that participants and clients leave the setting with more energy than when they started!

John lives in rural upstate New York with his wife Nancy – who often appears in his examples and stories. He fancies himself as a fly fisherman.
